About M. Cortney Daniels
M. Cortney Daniels finds her muse as an aging poet and adoptee in the psychological hum of humanity and its perpetual paradoxes: choice/coercion, war/peace, violence/gentleness, power/futility, nature/nurture. Her recent work has appeared in many journals and her poem, "Blue Grief," in Soul of Our Soul, an anthology on the Israeli/Palestinian war, was nominated for a Pushcart in 2025. Her chapbook, Lineage, is long-listed for the Headlight Review chapbook prize. With an MFA from Iowa, she co-edits Well Versed, the annual anthology of the Columbia Chapter of the Missouri Writers Guild. She lives in Columbia, MO.
